100 days of shelter ... and then?

That's 100 days of those rejected for asylum have found refuge in Lausanne parishes seeking to protect themselves from eviction and to highlight many situations Similar experiences of hundreds of people who live here but who the authorities have refused so far to give legal status.

We demand an entry in these files in order to finally obtain corrections. We also request the withdrawal of the scheme of emergency and return to welfare for rejected es, the right to work and a moratorium on removals.
We rely in particular on the example says "the 523" as a refuge for the years 2004-2005 had showed a little known reality of the population, and urged the authorities to find humane solutions for virtually all persons concerned. Today those people whom the authorities had vowed they would get nothing yet, have finally succeeded.

Unfortunately, times have changed and discriminatory laws have progressed. The fate of men, women and children who suffer the humiliating regime and binding of the applicants rejected asylum-es-es left many politicians and media-ties completely indifferent.

A battle against indifference, intolerance sister ...

Today, we still do not know if the Lausanne parishes will continue to support us, as we have more need than ever to continue a fight but just long. The two unsuccessful people we support are in danger of dismissal. They still have not health insurance, while Swiss law requires. Vaud authorities have still not responded to our requests for reinstatement of health insurance, and even less for the suspension of threats of dismissal. We are familiar with D. and T. and refuse to accept the treatment of outcasts that inflicts the township. We will support them the necessary time to stabilize them, and all those whose situation is similar.

Fortunately, the Holy Spirit Parish has agreed to open its doors for longer than expected, and we're grateful es. We're still at the moment, but until when? Unfortunately, our battle with the administration of Vaud and Bern takes time, and it will take to protect people in danger of eviction. For now only a young man has won a reprieve and was able to get out the refuge without fear of being deported. Therefore we reiterate our request to the parishes of Lausanne does not stop to logistical difficulties (occupancy), and encourage them to take a step towards those who need protection and who are fighting for their dignity .
